- why AI makes your content worse
why AI makes your content worse
so do this instead
AI is amazing.
I genuinely believe we are in the next technological revolution.
A big part of my content is about leveraging the latest tools to scale your real estate or mortgage business without expensive teams or spending hours of your time.
However, at this moment, when it comes to creating content by itself:
AI sucks.
Even if you give it some context and prime it to be a social media copywriter, the outputs are always:
Lacking engaging or emotional hooks
Stale and void of personality
Too high-level and lack depth
Include words you would never say in real life
Have way too many damn emojis 🤪
If we look at some of the top content creators in the Real Estate and Mortgage space like Minh Nguyen, Jide Buckley, or Brian Decker or a big influencer in ANY niche none of their best content seems written by AI.
Why?
They understand that the way you package and present the information is almost more important than the information itself.
The way they come across in their videos is so unique to them and feels like this is exactly how they’d talk if you met them in real life.
Compare that to the creator who uses generic pre-written scripts or AI-generated content.
Y’all sound the same and like robots.
No personal connection to the audience therefore no reason to keep watching or follow you.
REMINDER: AI should be used to SCALE your personality NOT REPLACE IT!
AI can give you the information but that’s only 40% of the way there, the remaining 60% that makes it great comes down to structure and personality.
So here are three ways you can still use AI to help you with your content that does not suck:
Tip #1
Instead of having ChatGPT, or whatever AI tool you’re using, to create a script for you have it give you talking points instead.
Ask for bullet point form lines highlighting key information on a topic or article.
Bonus Tip: Also ask to give actionable steps for your target audience so your content can be more valuable.
That way you have the key information points organized and all you have to do is focus on presenting them in your own voice with more details for your niche or target audience.
Tip #2
Focus on how the content sounds versus how it reads.
AI is great with grammar, vocabulary, and knows exactly when to use a semi-colon (to this day I still have no clue).
So AI outputs read well to an English teacher but when you read it out loud it tends to sound too salesy or not conversational.
Therefore make sure you have “write in a conversational tone” in your prompts but an event better way to adjust for this is just to read the script out loud to yourself.
Does this sound like something YOU would say?
If it doesn’t, then change it because say you do get a client or referral partner from your content, once they finally meet you they’ll immediately get confused because you sound nothing like you do in your videos.
Tip #3
Have a content framework.
ChatGPT does not know how to structure a video script or piece of content that is optimized for reach and engagement.
Unless you train it, it does not know which videos have gone viral or what trends are hot.
So you should come up with a few content frameworks (or reply “FRAMEWORK” and I’ll send you detailed ones you can use) and either train your AI on it or take the information it spits out and apply it manually.
Generally, you want to make sure the content has the following framework:
Engaging hook
Followed by an open loop or second hook to get the viewer to stay until the end
Deliver the context, info, or value (in the shortest way possible)
Ending with a call to action or call to engage
If there is anything you take away from this post is that:
AI is a powerful tool but you still need a skilled craftsman to use it properly in order to build something great.
Now go create.

As always, here are the latest trending industry news articles you can use to create content.
If you’re using AI to help you create this content, don’t just summarize and regurgitate.
Extract the most important talking points and use them to deliver, with your own voice, real valuable insights.
